The View

The View

My first massage was in Hot Springs, AR. The place had huge tubs of different temperatures and you chose the one that suited you best. I was a bit uncomfortable undressing until I saw one lady come out in her swim suit. You don’t want to feel overwhelmed by something that makes you feel good.

Over the years we made the trek back even taking my father. He came bouncing out like a young man. Sadly, the bath houses have closed and the spa are locking their doors. Hotels that once offered a massage now do so only in the busy season. I hate to think that hot tubs have taken the place of a full body massage.

If you take a cruise, the massages are one of the first things to get booked.  I once called a spa and asked for a massage the gal said “I think we do those.” I definitely had the wrong place.

I’m making progress.
I got up early enough to see the sunrise.
The room overlooks the bay so the water slaps up against the bank.
I made coffee, opened the drapes and curled up in bed to sip.
The sun first turned the sky red, then pink.
Before I knew it the sun had popped up above the horizon.
I glanced away to pull the blanket up and it seemed as if the sun
had jumped up a whole inch.
Just that quickly, the sun had made progress across the sky.
Just as quickly, the clouds swallowed up the sun leaving only a few rays behind.

Life is short. Enjoy every moment.
May you have lots of sunrises in your future,
Like cold water to a weary soul                                                                                           is good news from a distant land.  Proverbs 25: 25  NIV

Lord, thank you for the gift of communication so I can share my world with others.

Bless the Lord, you His angels,

Who excel in strength, who do His word. PS 103: 20

Enjoy Today

We should live for today and learn from the past;

if you get so caught up in the past you can’t enjoy today

or move forward to tomorrow

Now some things you can prepare for like keeping milk and bread in the freezer, if you have one.

Flour to make your own bread and powdered milk are good alternatives.

Keeping extra gas requires a container and a place to store it.

Some things you just can’t prepare for, like the water rising so quickly.

We filled the bathtub with water to wash off with and flush the commodes when needed.

Stopper didn’t work and someone just had to have a bath. Water was still useable for flushing

commode. Maybe that person doesn’t know how to deal with issues. You have to be flexible and

your wits about you.

Lost Everything

Lost everything not really. You may have lost material possessions but if you and your loved ones are safe you can replace the other stuff. Lost everything when you lose hope or lose sight of God.

True Survivor

      True Survivors

True survivors are built one event at a time

like laying bricks for a wall.  Each incident

makes you stronger and gives you the skills

to survive.  Catastrophes produce heroes

who survive through monumental hardships

but the true survivor makes it through one

small crisis after another, building an inner

strength that can face any calamity with

the knowledge

            “I am a survivor.

            I will get through.”
